Kathy Marschman, former VMW Vice President, was chosen as the new President just before the end of June.

Kathy enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1986. Following completion of Officer Candidate School in 1997 she was commissioned and served as a Military Police Platoon Leader. In 2000, she transferred to the Wisconsin Army National Guard, from which she retired in 2010. During active duty tours from 2004 to 2010, Kathy participated in the development of what became the Army's Warrior Care and Transition Program. In particular, Kathy was involved in the development of the Army’s Community Based Warrior Transition program, which serves wounded, injured and ill reserve component Soldiers, where she served as Company Commander and Task Force Operations Officer. Kathy received a BS in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1994 and recently completed a degree in Law. Kathy joined VMW in 2008 as a board member and became the Vice President in 2009. Now she serves with the Wisconsin State Veterans Administration and has become President of VMW by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.
