What is Non-Service Connected Disability Pension?

Non- Service Connected Disability Pension is a financial support benefit program that is available to wartime veterans having a very limited or non existent income. The amount payable to the veteran is determined significantly based on the amount of income the veteran is already in receipt of.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for VA Non Service Connected Disability you must:

  • Were discharged from service under honorable conditions;
  • Served 90 days or more on active duty with at least 1 day during a period of war time.
  • It must be decided that you are permanently and totally disabled or 65 years old or older;

Current payment amount is $981. Any income you receive, will reduce the amount you are entitled to by the Department of Veterans Affairs dollar for dollar. If you fail to notify the Department of VA any income you receive and once the VA gets notification of the income, you will be suspect to overpayment.
